You've found the website/web 1.0 museum for Mark E. Harris, an award-winning freelance journalist originally from the UK but now based in Seattle. In 2013-14, I was a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT. In 2015, I won the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Gold Award for this story on hacking crowdsourcing.

I write about technology, science, business, the environment and travel for a wide range of editorial outlets. There are links to lots of work samples below. Please get in touch (links to the right and here's my Facebook page).

• My first stories for Scientific American, on the effect of giant waves on Arctic ice.
• Broke a story on how virtual assistants break child privacy laws, in The Guardian.
• A feature on how NASA used mules to validate its latest weather satellite.
